random snapshots

First signs of spring in our yard ... (before the rabbits got to them and ate half the blooms — grrr!)

Baby's room, mid-paint job ...

Painting complete! (Click here to see what it looked like before it was green.)

Ingrid takes a cat nap ...

Five and a half months pregnant (and looking rather contemplative — perhaps reflecting on the fact that my uterus is now the size of a soccer ball?!) ... (Click here to see what I looked like a month ago.)

That can't be the same Ingrid from our DDT days!!!
Man, that cat is huge! Do they make kiddy treadmills?. I remember that Ingrid didn't like me much. She was constantly pawing at me. She liked to be touched only when she wanted it.
I assume she has calmed down a bit.

She's still a cantankerous kitty, Cynthia, but Steve has turned her into his own personal love child. :) (She has become a lot more sociable since George died, and her favorite place to sleep is on Steve's back.)

P.S. Thanks! ;-)

So tell me about your house? Your tulips are beautiful. How many bedrooms do you have? Are you going to let the baby sleep in a crib in your room for the first few months? It would be easier on you if you have decided to breastfeed.

Cynthia, we live in a 1954 rambler: three bedrooms, one bathroom, all on one floor, plus a basement. It's roomy enough for us, yet still feels cozy. I like it! We haven't decided yet where the baby will sleep at first, although I agree it would be nice to have him in a bassinet in our room for a while. I've been looking on Craig's List. We'll see ...

Susanne, thanks for the compliments on the photos. :) I do think Steve has motivated me to do more gardening, and so has living in a house. (I didn't have a garden before moving in with him.) We are both novices, so we have a lot to learn, but it's fun to plan out which plants to try and where to put them. Steve is the one who likes to try growing things from scratch. (He even tried out some cypress tree seeds after we got back from our honeymoon in California! But they didn't go.)

Great picture...you are not even lacking the uniform black shirt. Your flowers are lovely and I love baby's room.
Cynthia — Ingrid paws and snarls at me too, despite the fact that all my life I've always been drawn to cats and they seem to have always been drawn to me.
