i am so pissed

Some f***ing a$$hole stole our favorite stroller from our front yard tonight. Steve came back from the park with Daniel before dinner and left it out front, and he just noticed it's gone. Who would do something like that? Who? We've left it out there plenty of times, never thinking we had to worry about theft in this neighborhood, but I guess we learned our hard lesson.

It's our red BOB Revolution. I could just cry. All those walks I took with Daniel around the neighborhood, all those lattés cradled in the cupholder, all the groceries crammed in the basket underneath from trips to Mississippi Market, all the Mass programs tucked into the pocket after family walks to church. I loved that stroller. It was more a part of me than I imagined because right now I feel like my heart's been ripped out.

The police dispatcher said to call back tomorrow to file a report. Steve says we should look on Craig's List to see if anyone tries to sell it. I just don't have high hopes for ever seeing it again, though.

That really sucks! I am so sorry about the stroller. I will check on Craigslist as well just in case some suspicious ad turns up. As a mom, I know how special those sentimental items can be (not to mention the monetary value of that great looking stroller). :(

That sucks. Chris recommends just driving around the neighborhood to see if some kids/teens took it and just messed around with it for a while and dumped it somewhere. Might be worth a drive. I'm sorry!

I would check Craigslist too.

that sucks - WHY steal someone's stroller!!!

I hope karma kicks them in the ass.

So I am sure this is not helpful right now but those strollers are on sale at REI during their summer clearance. If by some chance you don't recover it.

Oh boy, I would be pissed!!!! I just bought a Bob Revolution duallie stroller this week and it was upwards of $500. I would check with Once Upon a Child stores near you. In the meantime, let karma deal with this dispicable person!

That's horrible. It really takes some nerve to just steal something out of the front of someone's yard. I am so sorry, Emilie. I second the idea of checking craigslist and OUAC. You never know..

What a bummer. I know exactly how and what you are feeling! My beloved bike was stolen from our garage when I was working in the backyard last spring.

I met Gerald while riding it. And later, we were on a bike ride and he proposed to me.

It's a drag when someone does this. I'm sorry. Really sorry.

I'm hoping that this round of chemo is going ok for you. You certainly did not need this.

Have you said a prayer to Saint Anthony? : )

AH! What a creep. I do hope it's in an alley somewhere and you can relocate it. I'm glad to hear they are out at REI. But, geez, Emilie, I'm outraged for you.

Ah Em, I'm sorry! I would definitely check Craigslist though. Maybe some addict wanted the metal.

Hard to believe, isn't it? Not only is it a great stroller, but it's also one of those memory-maker items. I felt the same way when someone stole our very first brand-new Weber grill -- which we bought each other for our first anniversary -- out of our fenced backyard, hot coals and all. It makes you feel so violated. I agree with Liz, though -- take a stroll around the neighborhood. It might be in an alley somewhere.

What sort of jerk does that??? I am so sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything.

WHAT NERVE!

I would put a BIG sign in your front yard telling the jerk off. Stating what they just stole from a BABY!

Sorry! Those suckers are not cheap!

Wow, that sucks! I would be devestated, too.

What's with the stolen strollers today? A girl on a message board I'm on had a stroller stolen off her front porch today. Brand new, still in the box (the FedEx people just left it on her front porch because they weren't home...). Then I come on here and read THIS? People are mean. I agree that karma is a b*tch!!

It's unbelievable what people will do, isn't it?

Some jerk stole my grandmother's wheelchair about 10 years ago while we were eating in the restaurant at dinner. At Disney World. On Christmas Eve. Pushed it right out of the park.

I love the idea of the sign. I was once driving on a back road through some little town, and a man whose wife was apparently cheating on him had devised his own Scarlet Letter for her with spraypaint and a piece of plywood. I think it would be a fabulous public shaming to put a sign up in your own yard taking whoever took it to task.

Omg.. this makes me sick.. what a total loser to take a stroller.. I'm so sorry.. I would be sooo dang pissed.. in fact I'm pissed for you:)

Seriously - that is horrible. Who does that?

Damnit! I remember how much research you did on that stroller, Em.

Your neighborhood always reminded me of a Hood River neighborhood, in that you could literally leave stuff in the yard with not worry. Then this.

I mean - it obviously wasn't a punk - what would a punk want with a stroller? Unless he/she was simply being sadistic. So that means it may have been a mom; what kind of mom would be so immature?

I'm sure you're asking yourself the same questions, Em. I'm really sorry for this loss.

WTF??? Sometimes it's so hard not to just thing "PEOPLE SUCK." Oh Em, of all the things to happen, I'm so sorry. I'm sure you feel violated as well as the loss of all the sentimental value of it. Not to mention the sheer material loss. I exclaimed to John when I read this and he said, "What jerk steals a stroller?" My thoughts exactly.
