i see a road trip taking shape

States I've visited are in red - 40 of them. I counted Colorado, Michigan and Georgia, even though I've only been in airports there.

Here's Steve's map - 32 states.

Here's my world map. According to the Web site, I've been to 7 percent of the world's countries.

I believe this calls for a trip to the Land of Enchantment... er, New Mexico!

I'll put my two cents in. Here is the small list of states I've been in.

Minnesota (Yeah!)

I won't count Illinois or Utah, is it's been airport only.

Wow Em, you've been to lots of States!

Steve actually loves New Mexico, Liz. We hope to pay your lovely home state a visit someday.

Sue, I know - I was surprised! I guess that's what happens when you've lived in four different regions of the country ...

Also, there are three states Steve and I both have not visited: Oklahoma, Kansas and Rhode Island. We talked it over, and Rhode Island gets first priority of the three! I'd like to see the mansions at Newport.

Wow, Emilie, you have really traveled. I'm impressed.
I would love to visit all 50. When did you go to Hawaii?

Okay, here's my short list, most of which have been in the south.

South Carolina
North Carolina
West Virginia

Airport states

I forgot Michigan. I have a sister and a brother who lives there and I spent a couple of summers there when I was a child. I havent' been there since 1996 though. Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long. I see them every year, but just not in their home town.

I want a passport and I want it stamped. I want to go waaaaaay out of town (smile)

As someone who has been to both Oklahoma and Kansas, I heartily recommend a trip to New Hampshire. ;) (Although Kansas does have some interesting tributes to Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz...)

You're welcome to visit us in NM anytime - we'd love to have you!

Go see Charleston SC, and parts nearby, and Savannah since you've never been outside of the Atlanta airport. Moreover, when you're in one of the two, you can get to the other by train faster than you can by car. Fantastic architecture, plenty of history and great food in both places (they have their strong points--Savannah's civic design is neater and the city's artier and crazier, while Charleston is heavier on the history, a mecca for foodies and larger with more to do besides). Both places have beaches nearby too.

Looks like you need to go to Vegas! Wait till the son is older, though....I've been to 22 states (not counting the "airports-only" visits) and nine countries. I'll have more on my list when I take that coveted road trip up along the east coast interstate and my Mediterranean cruise!

You know, Ellen, I have never had any desire to go to Vegas! But maybe just to get that state off my list ...

And Ray, I'd love to visit Charleston sometime! Savannah would be cool, too.
