friday five:: word association

Short and sweet from the RevGals: Below you will find five words. Tell us the first thing you think of on reading each one. Your response might be simply another word, or it might be a sentence, a poem or a story.

1. vineyard — the wineries we visited in Sonoma in May.

2. root — root vegetables, such as potatoes and yams, and the fact that fall is almost here, and it will be the season for those foods.

3. rescue — the efforts to rescue everyone from the 35W bridge collapse.

4. perseverance — Harry Potter's quest to find the horcruxes and destroy Lord Voldemort.

5. divided — our parish, over styles of liturgy and worship.

From Elizabeth in Mississippi!
1. vineyard — I see an oil painting on found wood of a group of grapes still on the woody vine & the earth is very dry.

2. root — family... the family tree rooted firmly in the earth.

3. rescue — pets. (this is a bit of the toy store manager in me) the second thing that popped in my head was Denis Leary - Rescue Me

4. perseverance — never give up.... I'm having a tough time at work trying to beat my last year sales with the old manager at the helm

5. divided — we fall.... I've got to put together a great team of sales people and truck crew to win this Christmas season ($10,000 here I come!)

1. vineyard — shade under manicured rows of lush green leaves and vines.

2. root — brown centers with white branches as thin as threads, covered in dirt and straight from the earth.

3. rescue — sirens, walkie-talkes, scanners, panic, people, lots of the color red, yellow, and the symbols: The thick, bold and goemetrically proportionate red cross.

4. perseverance — Something life-long. In it's pure form, it takes a lifetime to gain what you persevere.

5. divided — rich and poor.
