I used to pick dandelions for my mom. She was never excited to have them and tried to explain to me that they are weeds. I didn't get it - they were so pretty!
I love that Daniel is picking these pretty flowers for you. I find it funny that he squishes them up in his fists.
Aren't dandelions the best? Our yard has enough to keep Miss Boo busy, but not so many that we're embarrassed. And, since they don't last for very long she gets to pick them every day!
Has Daniel come across any (what we call) monster dandelions, ones which have thicker stems and look to have more of a double-headed flower at the top?
Anyway, thinking of you and glad your little guy is keeping you supplied with pretty flowers!
I like the way the dandys match the yellow strip in Daniel's shirt. And I can barely see Daniel's shoes - aren't they the ones you bought him at Northshore, Em?
One night about 15 years from now, when Daniel misses a midnight curfew, you're going to miss these little-boy hands and those crumpled-up dandies and treasure this picture even more :)
I'm Emilie, a writer and mother to two young boys, married to my best friend and living in St. Paul, Minnesota. I was diagnosed with a soft-tissue sarcoma in August 2007, while pregnant with our youngest son. Cancer sucks. But we are trying to live life to the fullest in spite of it.

I love these kind of flowers. Kids are just so darn cute, thinking of momma all the time when they see these little "flowers" growing in the yard.
