ben at five months
Five months seems like a pivotal age: Daniel was five months old when I started taking him to Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes and first met the kids who would become his play group (and their parents who have become friends).
Daniel was also around five months old when we bought the Ergo and started wearing him around in it — and now Ben's neck is strong enough that I can wear him without the infant insert, and he loves it. Sometimes he naps in it; other times he just stares up at me with his wise little eyes and smiles. I love wearing him in it, too. I can walk around with my cane in my left hand and still have my right hand free to carry a cup of tea (carefully) or water the garden. And in a small way, it lets me feel a closeness with him that I had missed from having to wean him from breastfeeding so early.
In another month or two, we'll be feeding him solids, and he'll be sitting up by himself. He's growing up right under my nose. It seems like time is going by faster than it did with Daniel.

Adorable! That color looks nice on Ben.
I'm so impressed with the comfort of the Ergo. It's been a nice way to give baby #2 a few extra snuggles, since we don't have as much one-on-one time together. I'm glad it has made things easier for you too!
I totally agree with you on #2 growing up so much faster. I think that every single day.
I really think I ought to buy one of these Ergos already!
I am glad things are easier for you in it, too.
Happy 2 year and 5 month birthdays to your boys... they're both so beautiful!
Ben you are one beautiful kiddo.
I can't believe how fast you're growing. :)
What joy your sweet boys must bring to you! Love the train party for Daniel, aren't you the cool parents!
Hi there, your children are absolutely adorable. What a bunch of sweeties. I happened upon your blog today and I am truly inspired. I'm having a crappy mom day, and your post about your 5 month old made me pause and look a little deeper into why I love being a mom. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy 5 months to Ben.
Your boys are so beautiful, Emilie! You must be such a proud parent. :)
That is one seriously beautiful boy! He is doing great!
He is so stinkin' cute. I love reading your day-to-day activities with the boys...you cherish every little thing. You're an awesome Mommy.
happy 5 month little man, you're so cute
Sooo cute! I especially like the one of Ben turned slightly to the side. Looks like he's deep in concentration.

What great photos, Emilie! The boys look great, and it is sure hard to believe Ben is 5 months old. Where DID that time go?

I love that second picture. I feel like he is looking into my soul.
