unexpected and welcome

Another CT scan Monday, followed by an appointment with my oncologist Tuesday — where I learned that several of my lung tumors actually have shrunk! That's great news, better than I ever expected. I've never had any of my tumors shrink until now. The bad news is that one tumor (one of the largest) has grown some more. But even with that, Dr. S. wants to continue with two more rounds of this chemo regime. So back I go to the infusion room Monday.

Two more rounds means six more weeks. It means Steve and Daniel and Ben and I can go on vacation in October in good spirits. Hooray!

Melanie wants me to tell you this:

"I'm so proud of you; your face is just glowing in some of your pictures and I'm so glad your spirit and self and inner light are shining. That's how I remember you from when you were here for Jo's wedding. I think you're a total badass. You're a wonderful writer. You're incredibly gifted, and you should be writing a book."

Mel started reading your blog and I had to steal my laptop back so that I could work. Love you! J

Hi Emilie. I pop in on you now and again, to see how you are doing. I thought I'd de-lurk. Hi!

My husband got diagnosed with non-hod.g.kins lym.p.homa five days before the birth of our child, back in May. A mass of tumours in his stomach and chest. I hate tumours, I hate cancer, and I hate chemo.

He has two more chemos to go also. My absolute blessings and empathy go to you and your family. Your boys are BEAUTIFUL.
